Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. Tiziana Chiusi

Prof. Chiusi holds the Chair of Civil Law, Roman Law and European Comparative Law and the office of Dean of the Faculty of Law. She also heads the Institute of European Law (IER), which compares the legal systems of different European partners through international cooperation. The IER also offers the Master’s postgraduate course in German Law and European Comparative Law, which leads to the title LL.M.
Prof. Chiusi’s teaching and research focuses on the legal status of slaves and the “foreigners’ law” in ancient Rome. Further focal points of her research are legal developments in other countries within and outside Europe and the law of enrichment and gifts. A detailed description of her work can be found here.
